Yes the government does have the right to gather data about american people for national security purposes. In order to protect citizens their liberties have to be compromised in exchange for public safety. For instance when the 9/11 occurred the united states was forced to step up their security which meant more investigating . It is permissible for the government to gather data durig wars and threats such as terrorist attacks.
ReplyDeleteYes because the country safe and any weird activity can be traced and that person would get caught by the government. Just like the guy who tried to set off a bomb in time square people like that would get cause because the government would be tracking your calls or the websites you visit.
ReplyDeleteThey Have A Right But Not When They Are Over Stepping Their Boundaries & Lurking Into People's Private Life .
ReplyDeleteThe government does have a right to gather data because in order to keep us safe , they need to have information and data help them do their job. I think if they suspect a terrorist act then they have the right to use data . Either way what they're doing is ment to protect us , and if they feel this gives them the advantage and helps them do their job then let them do it
ReplyDeletethe government does have a right to tap into certain stuff because of insidence that happened , which made the government more cautious. But i do also think that the citizens deserve their privacy but its.for.our own saftey
ReplyDeleteI believe that the government does have the right to gather data and tap into people's phones . I think this because it can help keep citizens safe in America from terrorist attacks such as 9/11. 9/11 made people more cautious an made security an stuff do more checking so nothing like that will happen again.
ReplyDeleteSecurity is important for the general public. If your not a terroist than you really shouldn't care its not like the government is humiliating you.
ReplyDeleteI think the government has a right to gather data about the American people for national security purposes because ever since 9/11 the government has been more precautions on security, especially if terrorist are trying to bomb a city e.t.c I also don't see the reason for extra security it's for better safety for every city.
ReplyDeleteThe government has a right to tap into people privacy only if its harmful for other people of the country . After 9/11 the government had reasons to be so cautious ! - Nia Williamson
ReplyDeletei believe that the government has a right to have access to gather data of the american people but only under reasonable suspicion other wise it is an invasion of privacy.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the government has the right to access our gathering gata, but i dont lke the fact that they violate our privacy. For our on sake that another terrorism attack.!As obmama said you cant have 100% secretary & 100% privacy. What he means by that is you have to give up some rights in order to have safety in your country but i think that they could handle it in another way.
ReplyDeleteI believe the government shouldn't have a right, I mean president Nixon had to resign for the very same reason and now they're allowing it then it was no pint of Nixon to resigned I feel like they shouldn't tap into anyone business unless they had problems with them in the pass and or they have a case leading to an arrest on the person other then that no they should not have the right to do so
ReplyDeleteI think the government has a right to gather information but to a certain degree. If they are searching our web browser history , that's private and should not be gathered. Nobody will google how to make a bomb so collecting certain data is the governments way of being nosy. In all honesty some privacy has to be compromised in order for the government to protect us.
ReplyDeleteYes the government does have the right to gather data about american people for national security purposes. because all they are trying to do is keep us safe . Even though i know that means they tape into our phones , computers, etc . But i rather that then having another 9/11. After 9/11 we already gave up our rights , right there we wanna be safe and we would do anything to stay safe.- Na'Daije Gresham
ReplyDeleteYes the governments has the right but they should push there boundaries because its violating there privacy
ReplyDeleteYes the government does have the right to gather data about us. There doing there job to keep us safe and not put us in danger. They can help keep American citizens safe from terrorist attacks. For instance the 9/11 was a huge situation, because of 9/11 they feel that they should have more security and be more cautious to keep us safe.
ReplyDeleteThe government does have a right to gather information about American people for national security purposes. It is a way of being able to protect the American people by stopping events before they can occur rather than while they're occurring. Take for instant the events of 9/11, Had you been able to prevent it that would've been more beneficial for the country then having to clean up and put the government in the position it is now. Gathering the information is alright but gathering unnecessary information That doesn't pertain to a possible terrorist event should be considered unconstitutional
ReplyDeletei feel like the government has the right to access any ones information so they can prevent any terrorists like 9/11 or the Boston bombing.
ReplyDeletei feel that the government does have the right to access a persons information because it in fact does help them keep us safe. i feel that they think it is necessary especially after incidents like 9/11 and the boston marathon. incidents like that opens everyones eyes to the fact that we do need to take certain precautions.
ReplyDeleteI believe the government should have a right to access people's personal information but to a certain extinct . Because it invades innocent peoples privacy ! Whats the point of privacy if the government is watching everything you do . They should only be allowed to access your peronal information if your have any connects with terrorism or anything in harm of the country. - Nia Williamson
ReplyDeleteI believe yes the government should have the rights to gather data about american people for national securiety purposes so things like 9/11 wont ever happen again. And so atleast we could be aware ,aware of we could be walkin right next to a terrorist nd dnt even no it .

The government should have the right to go and collect information on everybody by listening to our phone calls because the government could find some information to keep us safe from terrorism or anything else that could harm us.
ReplyDeletei feel that the government does have the right to access a persons information because it in fact does help them keep us safe. i feel that they think it is necessary especially after incidents like 9/11 and the boston marathon. incidents like that opens everyones eyes to the fact that we do need to take certain precautions.
ReplyDeletethe government doesn't have the rights to access peoples personal files basically they don't have the right to expose people privacy in fact this wouldnt help it would only make it identity f rode they would be setting their own self up for trouble and other people they have to at least warn people before they sell peoples information to other companies and out sider's that you wouldn't even know
ReplyDeleteHi This Is Fernando Lainez. I think that the government has the right to get data from the people and i think its a good idea because its for the safety of people and its also good to prevent terrorist attacks. Its their job to keep us safe.
ReplyDeleteKhalil Lightbourne- The goverment does have the right to get data from people but it should only be to a certain extent. like the goverment shouldnt b listening to everyones phone calls etc.. they invade our privacy a little too much. and they should be permissable to get some data but they could be extreme with terriost and people with criminal backrounds
ReplyDeleteYes the government should have the right but it doesnt mean going into peoples privacy and that is wrong to do
